Church and Chapel
St Nicholas Church, Stillington
The church is one of five in a
Benefice (Farlington, Marton, Sheriff Hutton, Stillington and Sutton on Forest) with one vicar. It
is well supported with over 100 on the electoral roll.
Services are shown on the Church Notice Board and in the monthly Stillington
News. Some services are based upon the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and some from
Common Worship. A modern joint village praise with the Methodist Chapel takes
place periodically.
There are informal Morning Prayers at
9.00am each Thursday when people of all denominations are welcome. The prayers
are often led by Lay People. There is a music
group which helps to lead worship at some services.
For further information please
contact one of the Wardens. A very warm welcome is extended to everyone.

Methodist Church
The Chapel is situated in Main
Street, set back off the road, between two houses. This particular building was
opened in 1971, the old chapel having been pulled down to build housing.
There is an Evening Service most
Sundays at 6.30pm within the local circuit with services either being taken by the Minister (who lives in Easingwold) or local preachers.
Periodically there is a
joint Village Praise Service, alternating with St Nicholas' Church. Regular Bible Study/Fellowship
are held. Details from one of the stewards.
Cream Teas are held each Bank
Holiday Monday afternoon. Proceeds are split between the
Chapel and the Church.
Stillington Chapel is part of the
York Circuit and various services and social gatherings are held
throughout the year with other Churches.
